Steve and his wife Rachel have been married for 25 years. They live in Delavan, Illinois with their five children: Caleb, Josh, Micah, Leah, and Elisha. From a young age, Steve developed a heart for Africa. He spent a few of his early years in Kenya where his father served as a missionary doctor. After graduating from Asbury University, Steve served as a youth and missions pastor in New Jersey from 1999-2004 where he regularly led mission teams to serve around the world. From there the family followed God’s call to plant a church in rural central Illinois. 20 years later, Steve still pastors Crosswalk Fellowship. Crosswalk is a sending church that raises up and releases pioneers and partnerships in many countries. Steve travels a few months out of the year and trains church leaders to multiply disciplemakers for the nations. His primary focus is East Africa where he encourages and equips a disciplemaking way of life through orphan, refugee, and church planting ministries.
